Burning up

It has been very hot here in Osaka lately.　　Humidity seems to have been kicked up as well.　　This weekend was nice. On Friday I wanted to check out a giant fireworks show, but I wasn't able to go. I was able to see some of it thought from my apartment. There were people climbing up to the roof of my apartment with beers. It was quite funny. Saturday, I just relaxed and I cooked dinner for me and eri. I made some Pepperoncino Pasta and Sirloin Steak. It was damn good! haha I had a bunch left over too. We enjoyed it! Sunday I had to go to Kyoto because I put together an English project with my Eiken English class. Actually only 5 students volunteered and only 3 showed up. Anyway, the point of the project was to interview foreign tourists in English. For example one of the questions was "How long will you be in Japan?". We went to 3 tourist areas in Kyoto and asked 3 groups of people in each area. At first the students were quite reluctant to talk, but after the first one, they became excited. Every time they saw some foreigners they stalked them down and asked them questions. We recorded it and took a photo with the victims. haha It was really fun, however it was really hot outside. So my students were practically dead by the end of the day. We had a great time. I did some sightseeing as well when I was there. I took some videos and loads of pictures. We took a taxi to one of the tourist areas and I took a video of that. We went to a conbini called "Family Mart" and I was quite sad that I didn't find a family on sale. I arrived home about 6pm, so it was a long day. Since I worked on a Sunday, they let me have a day off this week. So I picked this coming Friday.

By the way, I am moving to my new apartment this coming weekend. I decided to throw away my current shit bed and buy a futon for the mean time. The person that lived in my apartment before me left me a bunch of SHIT so I will have to throw away most of it. However, all I really need is my Xbox, TV and clothes, my desk and a futon. It's all good yo! I am planning on taking some videos of our ridiculous attempt at moving this coming weekend. Hey I was thinking about making a podcast for my blog. What do you think about that? I think I will ask my buddy Tom to join in. Just an idea I'm throwing out there. Let me know what you think. The podcast will probably be about Life in Japan, Video Games, Music, Movies and random things in life.

So last Thursday marked 1 full year in Japan for me. This year has gone by so fast. I experienced many ups and downs. I have met many people and great friends. I have even managed to meet an amazing mate. I never would have thought this would happen to me here in Japan. Well I'm looking forward to this year as well. I have no idea what will happen this coming year. All I can say is that I know that I will do my best. The rest will follow through.

I miss the heavens!

For those of you who know me, know that I have a special love for star gazing. Last night I was chilling on my balcony looking up at the clear night sky and I realized. I cannot even see one star in the great Osaka sky. Sure I understand that I live in a gigantic city with so much light pollution, but a city with no stars in the sky seems like a city with no soul. That may sound crazy, I know. Sometimes I think that we all get too caught up in the world today to understand how insignificant we(including me) really are. Just one look at the sky you can see this as proof. What wonders lie beyond our deteriorating o-zone? How many wonderful planets like Earth are there just hanging out? Who lives on those "other" Earths? It blows my mind to think about it. Sure I'm no scientist or physicist but does it mean I cannot wonder? I wish more people would become educated about the universe, I think that would be a way to stop all our meaningless quarries with each other. If you follow soccer and soccer news in the world know about the tragedy in Italy this past weekend. Riots erupted across Italy on Sunday as fans attacked police stations after a policeman fatally shot a Lazio (soccer team) fan at a highway rest stop where Lazio fans were fighting with rival fans of the football club Juventus. I just don't understand what goes through these people minds that they have to cause more violence to react to violence. This is a great example of our quarries that are completely meaningless. This is just one example, and there are so many more to name but I digress. I only wish that someday we can put all the effort that we do into fighting each other and use that energy to find something bigger than ourselves i.e. the great unknown...space. Game Fixation

So I have been dying to play a video game lately. So I went to Amazon.co.jp and I found the game that wanted to buy its the new one called Bioshock. I was about to buy it but then I saw the price of the imported game. 8,000￥！！ In US Dollars that is about 75 bucks for a pc game! WhOA!!! So I think I will wait for a while and see if I can get it some other way. Right now I am so bored at school, I only had one class today and it was the first class in the morning. I have nothing to do and have been reading "The Motorcycle Diaries" and some Texas history books all day. Yes I know the hard life of a teacher in Japan. I should be studying Japanese but I am too excited because I get to play some footy with the lads tonight. I get to try out my new boots that I bought. Anyway I am just blabbing on. On a completely random note, hey mom I used the foreman grill again yesterday for some salmon, and damn it was good. So thanks again. Thanks to everybody for the great comments they are greatly appreciated, it's nice to know that some one is actually reading the things I write here. I like this because I really cannot tell anybody anything here because they just wont understand me. It really is horrible when you want to talk to somebody so bad but there is nothing you can say beside hi how are you. I was thinking earlier maybe they are thinking the exact same thing. Maybe they want to talk to me but they just feel bad about their English ability as I do with my Japanese. Well that is philosophical thought process for the day. Hope every one is well.
