Great Weekend!

Sorry I haven't been updating my blog lately. I am enjoying my time here in Texas. This past weekend my brother was married. It was quite surprising to first find out that my little brother was getting married. Anyway, the wedding was fun, and we had a good time. This week I will go to a famous place called White Sands National Monument to take some photos of the beauty there. Look for that in the coming days. I apologize I have not been putting up many stories lately. When I get back to Japan I will put some fun stories again. Here are some pictures of the wedding. There were so many pictures but I don't want to put all of them up, it would take way too long. See you

I feel like Tom Hanks...

In that movie where he is stuck in an airport...

Currently I am stuck at Dallas airport. I have been here since 9am. Apparently there is some crazy weather and tornados around. All flights have been canceled out of here. My next chance to leave is at 10am on Wednesday. That basically means that I will be at this airport for 24 hours. Im so tired right now. The only good thing is my phone works. Well take everybody, talk to you soon.

Off to El Paso

Hey everybody! I am heading to El Paso in about 10 hours. I'm definitely looking forward to heading home for a bit of relaxation! If you didn't know my little brother is getting married so that is basically the reason I'm going home. It actually feels weird leaving Japan, I guess I have become accostommed to it. Anyway, my next post will be from El Paso. If any of my friends from EP are reading this leave a message here or call my house. I don't think my phone is going to work in the states. I won't know until I get there of course. Well, talk to you all later. Stay safe!

End of the school year

Well today was my last day at school. That is until I get back from my little vacation. It was a really nice day. This whole week I have been playing basketball with the team at my school. The kids have really good technique and shoot the hell out of the ball. However, they don't have any muscle or strength when driving to the basket, or posting up. The coach likes the way I have been playing with them and he invited me to join him coaching the baskeball team. In my descent Japanese, I agreed happily. So that was a great thing that happened today.

After that I was rotting away in the teachers room. It was raining like hell all day long. Then a really nice student came up to me. She invited me to join her and the Sign Language club to make Gyoza. Gyoza is a chinese style dumpling. It's not a dumpling though, but it looks like one...hard to explain. Anyway, I was really happy to join them. There was about 14 of us in the kitchen making Gyoza and chatting. We had a great time. I was able to use my Japanese that I have been studying all week. Anyway it was just a great way to end the week and the school year. When I come back from the USA the new school year will start. A fresh start, with some new students. I am truly looking forward to it. But in the mean time, it's time to go home.

Tonight I am going out with a friend. I hope it will be nice! It's still raining as hell right now so I'm sure I will get a little wet. Well I will be back this weekend to give you an update or something.

This post has absoultely nothing to do with Japan, but I sure it is funny to you. Well I've been keeping up with the news back home in El Paso Texas. I always go to www.elpasotimes.com to get all my news from home. There is this story that is going around over there. It's about 2 local El Paso television news station vans racing at the drag strip. They were at the west texas drag strip grand opening and thought it would be a dandy idea to drag race eachother... what a bunch of tools. However, I must thank them. This stuff is too funny... here is the video...]

Hello all

Well there is approximately one week left until I go home. I'm really looking forward to it. This weekend was ok. It seemed longer than usual actually. I watched a lot of soccer on Saturday late night, and college basketball this morning.

I was looking at my closet trying to figure out what I should take home. I think I will just take a few clothes. I plan on getting some new stuff back home! haha Well I really don't have much to say right now. I hope you all are doing great. I know I have a lot more readers lately, I have hit over 4,000 hits! Just to let some of you know that are new readers. This blog is a small summary about my life. Sometimes it's completely random and scattered. I'm not trying to change your mind, or tell you how to think. I just want to let you know how I feel and what I experience. Well anyway that probably made no sense! Take care you all! EP, I will be back soon!

Graduation Day

Today was a big day for the seniors at my school! It was graduation day. I was very excited to see some of my students, probably for the last time. It's very similar to a western graduation ceremony. Well here are some pictures of me and some of my students. I'm going to miss these kids. They've only been in my life for a few months but I felt quite sad. Take care everybody. See you soon!

Big in Japan

So what's going on everybody? How has your life been lately? As for me, I think I am currently vitamin deficient. Especially since my diet basically includes, oatmeal, cereal, bread and spaghetti. Damn I'm living life huh?! I'm going to try and start to eat a few more veggies everyday. I don't really cook at my apartment mainly because my "stove" is about the size of a large box of Frosted Flakes. Actually, I don't even have a stove. It's this really pathetic looking electric plate, reminiscent of a high school chemistry class. Oh well, what can I expect? I'm definitely looking forward to eating tons of goodness when I go home.

My weekend was pretty good and busy. I went out with Tom and my friend Shin Shin on Friday night. The night started out at this place called bamboo. It's a really nice, small and cozy Mediterranean restaurant. The owner is from Israel and he is a nice guy. We didn't exactly go to eat, but we did get a few things. We had some drinks and smoked a hookah. You know what a hookah is right? It's like this Arabic water pipe that has flavored tobacco. It's quite relaxing and nice. The funny thing is that after a few drinks even Tom was hitting up the Hookah! It was pretty funny. We were having a great time, and then we looked at our watches and it was time for the last train home. After a few minutes of debating I decided just to stay out since I was just going to stay at Shin Shins place. However, Tom decided to try and catch the last train home. So he left and we continued on the good night.

After about 30 - 40 mins later. Tom walks back into the bar!! He missed his last train and was totally bummed. So basically he had to stay out with us all night. From then on we went to about 2 other bars, we ate ramen, I passed out at the Ramen shop (literally LOL), we walked around at about 4 am, we went to shin shins apartment and talked while drinking horrible tasting champagne. Tom and I finally left her apartment at about 8am. We were so tired and when I got home I just fell asleep. Tom had plans to go to Kobe that day so he only slept a few hours. It was pretty hilarious. We definitely were not planning on an all nighter, but in Osaka, it sometimes just happens.

Saturday I went to eat some Mexican (hahaha) food at a place called El Pancho. It was decent for Japanese Mexican food. I drank a Sol and ate some taquitos. However I believe that even Taco Cabana back in Texas would destroy this place in terms of quality. Sunday was boring, I just watched College Basketball online. I also watched the damn Miners lose in double OT, boo!

This week at work has been absolutely boring so far. There is nothing for me to do. I really don't understand why I have to be here. Yesterday I just watched movies on my computer and left. Today I am writing my blog and will probably beat Portal again. I love Portal, it's great!!!
Remember a few posts back, I told you about that school paper that I wrote a little article about myself for. Well it came out today, so I took a picture of the newspaper for you to see. I think I look like a complete tool, but whatever. Ok well I hope you all are doing good. Two weeks from today I will be in El Paso. I can't wait. Believe it or not I already have plans for that night!! WOOT! Well take care everybody, have an awesome week!
